Many of Mesa’s agri-tourism experiences offer a unique outing for groups. Make reservations for an exquisite dining experience at Schnepf Farms called Dinners Down the Orchard. This series of chef-driven events offer sixcourse meals in the middle of their 300-acre peach orchard. In February, Schnepf Farms celebrates the start of spring with their fragrant and colorful Peach Blossom Festival. Just east of Mesa is the Queen Creek Olive Mill – Arizona’s only family-owned and operated working olive mill and farm. Tour groups here can take a casual, informative tour and taste more than a dozen exclusive olive oil blends and flavors. Guides will want to plan extra time to dine at del Piero – the Mill’s Tuscaninspired eatery. And, tours at Mesa’s Superstition Farm are aimed at demonstrating daily life on a working “agri-tourist” family farm. Plan a stop at the Milk Bar featuring Udder Delights Ice Cream, and shop at Mooster’s Moo-tique, a fully stocked boutique featuring locally-made goods, novelty items, games, candy, fresh eggs, cheeses, and local jams and honey. Arizona also boasts deep roots in the citrus industry and Mesa farmers began planting citrus crops in the late 1800s. Tour one of Mesa’s original citrus growers, the Orange Patch, and enjoy the fragrant orange blossoms each winter. Guests visiting Mesa are welcome to take part and watch the picking and production process with special guided tours offered daily.
