Calling all animal lovers, families, friends and pets – both big and small – to join Ontario SPCA’s first annual Toronto Friends for Life Walk-a-thon on Saturday May 26th at Coronation Park. It is not just any walk in the park – it’s a fun filled day for everyone, including your four legged friends!
“Take action against animal cruelty and join me and Miss Louise to support this important cause. I believe animals enrich our lives every day and help make us better people,” says Tanya Kim, Honorary Chair for the Toronto Friends for Life Walk-a-thon and etalk Anchor.
This is the first walk being held by the Ontario SPCA in Toronto. The organization hopes to make it Toronto’s largest walk for animals and provide a voice for thousands of animals suffering from, neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
“Your compassion and generosity enables the Ontario SPCA to provide urgently needed care and shelter for thousands of innocent animals that suffer from injury, abuse or neglect each year in this province. By participating in this walk, you can make a lasting impression on these animals. They need you,” says Dave Salmoni, host and producer of a number of Animal Planet and Discovery Channel programs.
Put your best paw forward and register today at www.ospcawalk.ca. The walk gets underway at 10 AM following a ribbon cutting ceremony. After the walk, all registered walkers can feast on a free BBQ lunch, view a demonstration by the Toronto police services canine unit and enjoy face painting, music and entertainment for all ages.
