The Evolution of Men’s Spa Treatments at The Lodge at Woodloch

When we picture a stay at the spa, no doubt many of us conjure images of lunching ladies, girlfriends that gossip, flowers, fruity scents and soft linens. However, the ever-evolving spa industry is light-years ahead of the stereotype and continuing to propel in the right direction.

The International Spa Association reports in its Consumer Snapshot that 49 percent of spa customers are men, up from 29 percent in 2005. Men are a huge demographic who are becoming more aware of the value of taking better care of themselves. More and more men are looking for treatments geared toward their specific needs.

The Lodge at Woodloch has partnered with male-oriented skincare line Organic Male OM4. “The Organic Male OM4 product line was selected to enhance our treatments based on our similar approach and philosophy,” explained Nancy Deaton, Spa Director at The Lodge at Woodloch. Organic Male OM4 believes that the science of skin care exists within nature and requires minimal human intervention. They create small batch microblends of precise formulations using food-grade natural, and whenever possible organic and biodynamic botanicals. They do not test on animals, are fair trade, eco-friendly and world conscious. The male-focused spa treatments are now a permanent fixture on the spa menu and are kicking off over Father’s Day Weekend. “We have heard a tremendous amount of interest from our male clientele to have more offerings that speak directly to their specific needs. Men are taking a much more proactive approach to their well-being and have a much broader understanding of the results they are looking for in the treatment room” continued Deaton.

A day at the spa has evolved into a much more results-oriented experience that focuses on overall mind and body wellness. This of course relates to both men and women and finally, both are getting their day in the spotlight. With products and treatments that focus on the healing qualities of nature, The Lodge at Woodloch is able to create a unique spa experience that appeals to all wellness seekers.

The newest treatments on the men’s-centric menu include four personalized Men’s Well-being Massages — REST, AWAKEN, STRENGTHEN and DETOX — as well as the Men’s Well-Being Body Polish.
