As I gaze at the budding trees and the spring flowers blossoming, my thoughts shift to how I’ve watched the Turks and Caicos Islands emerge over the past twelve years or so. The sleepy little-known tourist destination, offering quiet white-sand beaches caressed by stunningly clear turquoise waters, and best known for its vibrant underwater snorkeling and scuba diving, has seen a transformation of its main tourism island of Providenciales into a sophisticated, upscale vacation destination that many only fantasize of visiting.

Dreams of visiting the Turks and Caicos Islands are becoming a reality for more Canadians recently with direct flights operating year round by both Air Canada and WestJet.

Air Canada Vacations expanded its winter season program to 3 flights per week from Toronto, along with additional weekly service from Montreal and Ottawa, and represents 16 resorts.

Weekly service from Toronto continues through the summer.

WestJet started flying direct from Toronto into Turks and Caicos this past winter with a choice of 10 resorts. This successful program has now extended on into the summer.
